About this fundraiser

This is Maliah! She was born premature at 31 weeks, she weighed 2.5lbs. She’s now 13 months and 15lbs! She’s a very happy baby and any one who has ever meet her can’t help but love her. Her smile lights up a room and her little laugh just melts your heart. The first year of her life has been really hard, she was born with a rare condition called cloaca malformation and she also has a double uterus. To sum up what that means is that she has no outputs for her poop or pee and on the inside it formed into one channel while she was growing in me and she happens to have 2 internal vaginas. Since she had no way for anything to exist her body while in utero it went back up inside her and damaged her kidneys. She has had many surgeries in her first year of life and has many more to come. Some of the surgeries included getting a colostomy bag, vestacostomy, vanginostomy and a mucus fistula. Her next surgery is a big one that will change her life as she gets older and it can only be done in Washington. Her form of cloaca is more complicated than others and because of that we have to go to Washington in November. There’s a surgeon there that specializes in this and him along with his team of many other specialist will be preforming the surgery. If everything goes as planned we should only be there for 2 weeks and be back home on thanksgiving day to spend it as a family with both of our daughters. We would do anything for Maliah and making sure she gets the best surgeon she can get for the best possible outcome with little to no risk for her so she can have some normalcy in her future and this is her best chance at having that. With Maliah's surgeries, appointments and overall daily medical needs I am unable to get a full time job, but her father works to help maintain all of us. He would need to be able to take the time off (without pay) for the surgery. We have to pay for the flights, hotel, food and transportation while we are there but we need help. If you can give anything that would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. Thank you so much for just taking the time to learn a little bit about our special little Miss Maliah Mae
