On January 29, 2025, Clint went to his Doctor for a sore throat, and swollen tonsils. During examination she noticed a “lump,” on Clint's left tonsil and expressed immediate concern. She set up an appointment that afternoon for a CAT scan. The CAT scan revealed a 25mm mass on his left tonsil.
The next day, January 30, 2025, Clint had an appointment with an ENT. During his examination he did tell us he was 98% positive it was HPV/Tonsil cancer. His doctor ended up doing a biopsy on his tonsil, so we had nothing to do except to wait for results.
February 6, 2025, they finally updated Clint's MyChart. It did in fact say that the biopsy was POSITIVE for cancer. It did take a few days for the doctor to call and explain next steps, but thankfully he said he was going to speak to the Oncologist, and get the ball rolling.
February 18, 2025, we went for his PET scan, then went back that afternoon for the results. The results showed that THANKFULLY the cancer was only in his throat, and no where else in his body. It is on his left tonsil, along with two lymph nodes.
With HPV caused cancer, staging is very different than “normal,” cancer, or at least that's how it was explained. Right now he is in “stage one,” which compared to “normal” cancer it is like a “pre-stage one.” For those of you who don't know Clint also has “Crohn's disease,” but with this, it means Clint has absolutely NO immune system. Everyone knows that with chemo/radiation it does take a toll on the regular humans immune system, but with my husband not having one I am terrified for what his body is about to endure.
Neither one of us like asking anyone for help, but I feel this is an absolute must for us. With us having a home, fur baby, and four children: Brielle,(12) Paisleigh,(11) Kaison,(8) and Bennett,(3) life can get expensive, especially with continuous medical bills. Now, I understand that life is extremely hard for everyone right now, so I am not taking any of this lightly. If you are able to help with anything, we will be eternally thankful.
We are forever thankful for everyones continuous support, thoughts, and prayers. Please continue to think of us, as this is going to be a very big bump in the road, but I am very positive that we will be past it in no time.
Love,
