About this fundraiser

For years, I have dedicated my life to my students as an alternative high school teacher, pouring my energy and love into helping the next generation find their way. However, this past July, my life was upended by a violent crime in my own home that left me not only navigating the trauma of an assault but fighting for my life.

The trauma of the event triggered a severe medical crisis, causing my epilepsy to become dangerously unregulated. I entered status epilepticus and spent 17 days in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. While I was fighting to recover, the world outside didn’t stop. The weeks of missed work and the mounting medical bills from my ICU stay created a financial deficit that has become impossible to bridge alone.

Despite following every legal and administrative path available, I was recently denied assistance through the Crime Victim’s Compensation Program. This was a devastating blow. Because of the lost wages and the cost of life-saving medical care, I have fallen behind on my mortgage and am now facing the terrifying reality of foreclosure.

I am reaching out to my community, friends, and anyone moved by this story to help me keep the roof over my head while I continue my journey toward healing and returning to the classroom.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

Catching up on missed mortgage payments to stop the foreclosure process.

Covering outstanding medical bills from my 17-day stay in the Neuro ICU.

Providing a bridge for lost wages so I can focus on my health and my students.

Any contribution, no matter the size, represents a step toward stability and justice. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with your network. Thank you for standing with me during the most difficult chapter of my life.
