My mom is facing the final stages of a fatal illness called supranuclear palsy, which has rapidly taken away her ability to walk, eat, and swallow. After a devastating fall, she now needs 24/7 care just to stay safe and comfortable. Medicare will not cover continuous hospice support, leaving our family responsible for around-the-clock caregiving that is financially impossible to sustain.
