My name is April, and I’m a mom of six children doing everything I can to hold my family together. I never thought I would be in a position where I had to ask strangers for help, but right now I don’t have another choice.
Not long ago, my work cut my hours without warning. Soon after, my children’s father was sentenced to 20 years in prison. In what felt like the blink of an eye, I became the only parent, the only provider, and the only source of comfort for six little lives who depend on me for everything.
Three of my children are still in diapers. Some nights I lie awake wondering how I’m going to make sure there are diapers, food on the table, and a safe place for them to sleep. I show up for my kids every day with a smile, even when I’m scared and exhausted, because they deserve to feel safe.
I’m not asking for extras—just help with the basics so my children don’t feel the weight of adult problems. Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward diapers, food, rent, and keeping our home stable. If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much.
