My niece is on the brink of death at the hospital. On September 4, she was stabbed with the intent to kill and suffered severe damage to her lungs, kidneys, intestines and near her heart. Her name is Brisia Martinez Noyola and she is 29 years old. Brisia was repeatedly stabbed and dragged in front of her two children. Her kids cried helplessly as they watched their own father attack to kill their own mother. They screamed in terror, asking their father to stop hurting their mother. She would have died were it not for the neighbors that came to interfere when they heard the children's screams. The children were found at the scene with their feet soaked by their mothers blood.

Brisia had been separated from the children's father for 3 years and was on the run because he had made multiple death threats before and had already previously put her in the hospital several times due to physical abuse.  She was hiding in Los Cabos San Lucas while working to support her two kids when he finally found her.

Brisia is in such a critical condition at the hospital in Los Cabos San Lucas, Mexico that in the span of two days she had to have two surgeries; with the incision in her body running from her collar bone to her pelvis.

Her mother, younger sister and Brisia were previously working to support themselves. Now they all have had to stop working to be with Brisia and the kids. They do not know if she will survive the injuries.

We are asking for your help to raise funds to support the family in the expenses that they have incurred due to this horrible emergency.

• The family paid for travel from Acapulco Guerrero to Los Cabos San Lucas (a 33 hour or 1,358.9 miles) to be with Brisia, and needed to cover food, hotel and transportation
  Her two small children are in need care and related expenses that can no longer be covered by what Brisia was earning. Brisia and her family do not have any means to provide for themselves at this time.
• Brisia has already undergone multiple surgeries, and will be needing more as she fights for her life. The costs of her medical care alone will be several times over what the family could ever hope to pay.
   
• Brisia will need to pay for travel expenses to a safe location, as well as the documentation fees and legal assistance to make this asylum protection possible. This would require paying for a lawyer.
   
• The two children, 6 and 8 years old will need psychological care after the trauma of helplessly watching as their own father was attempting to kill their mother. The children would not receive this type of psychological care in Mexico because it is not available to low income people in Mexico. The highest level of education Brisia was able to receive is elementary school.

God willing, Brisia will survive her injuries, but the battle doesn’t end there. We will need the assistance of a lawyer to navigate the process of seeking asylum for her and her two children if she is to stay with her extended family in the United States, California. She needs a safe place to heal from the physical and emotional damage without living in fear of another attempt on her life.

Brisia was trying to protect herself and her children by moving 33 hours away from the father of her children. She wanted to give her children a peaceful life free from abuse and trauma. She needs help getting that protection now more than ever, especially from her attacker if he finds out she survived. She is safest in the U.S. where he will not easily be able to get to her.

Mi sobrina está al borde de la muerte en el hospital. El 4 de septiembre la apuñalaron con intención de matarla y sufrió graves daños en los pulmones, los riñones, los intestinos y cerca del corazón. Se llama Brisia Martínez Noyola y tiene 29 años. Brisia fue apuñalada repetidamente y arrastrada delante de sus dos hijos. Sus hijos gritaban impotentes mientras veían a su propio padre atacar para matar a su propia madre. Gritaban aterrorizados, pidiendo a su padre que dejara de hacer daño a su madre. Brisia habría muerto de no ser por los vecinos que acudieron a interferir al oír los gritos de los niños. Los niños fueron encontrados en el lugar de los hechos con los pies empapados por la sangre de su madre.

Brisia llevaba 3 años separada del padre de los niños y estaba huyendo porque él la había amenazado de muerte en múltiples ocasiones y ya la había llevado al hospital varias veces por malos tratos físicos.  Estaba escondida en Los Cabos San Lucas mientras trabajaba para mantener a sus dos hijos cuando él finalmente la encontró.

Brisia se encuentra en un estado muy crítico en el hospital de Los Cabos San Lucas, México, que en el lapso de dos días tuvo que someterse a dos operaciones; la incisión en su cuerpo va desde la clavícula hasta la pelvis.

Su madre, su hermana pequeña y Brisia trabajaban antes para mantenerse. Ahora todas han tenido que dejar de trabajar para estar con Brisia y los niños. No saben si sobrevivirá a las heridas.

Solicitamos su ayuda para recaudar fondos con los que ayudar a la familia a sufragar los gastos ocasionados por esta terrible emergencia.

• Los dos niños, de 6 y 8 años, necesitarán atención psicológica tras el trauma de ver impotentes cómo su propio padre intentaba matar a su madre. Los niños no recibirían este tipo de atención psicológica en México porque no está disponible para las personas de bajos ingresos en México. El nivel más alto de educación que Brisia pudo recibir es la escuela primaria.

Si Dios quiere, y Brisia sobreviva a sus lesiones, pero la batalla no termina ahí. Necesitaremos la ayuda de un abogado para llevar a cabo el proceso de solicitud de asilo para ella y sus dos hijos si queremos que se quede con su familia aquí en Estados Unidos. Necesita un lugar seguro donde curarse de los daños físicos y emocionales sin vivir con el temor de que vuelvan a atentar contra su vida.

Brisia intentaba protegerse a sí misma y a sus hijos trasladándose a 33 horas de distancia del padre de sus hijos. Quería dar a sus hijos una vida tranquila, libre de abusos y traumas. Ahora más que nunca necesita ayuda para conseguir esa protección, especialmente de su agresor si se entera de que ha sobrevivido. Está más segura en Estados Unidos, donde no le resultará fácil llegar hasta ella.
