Hello, Hi! My name is Cheryl and I’m a 47 year old wife, mother and grandmother. My life changed when I went to  the hospital suffering severe onset hypertension. I’ll be forever grateful to the doctor on call for taking me serious that I had not been feeling well, and decided to do a full check up. It was then the thyroid nodules were found. Fast forward 3 weeks later it was confirmed I had cancer. The next day my husband was having a difficult time at work and informed his supervisor he was having a hard time dealing with the news. Three days later he was fired for being late. We already did not have a lot in savings as I have been unable to work for awhile. We had to go on medi-cal for the first time in our adult lives and apply for food stamps. We are having a severe financial hardship and facing possible eviction come June. This only adds to the emotional stress we have with news of my illness.
