About this fundraiser

Hi everyone,

My name is Rachel, and for those who know me, you know that asking for financial help is entirely out of my comfort zone. I am usually the one looking for ways to give back to my community, so having to step forward and ask for support is incredibly humbling.

I am currently enrolled in an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, working hard toward my RN license with the ultimate goal of earning my BSN. There is an opportunity where I can concurrently enroll in a BSN program, but the cost is high. Becoming a nurse is my absolute passion. Balancing the intense demands of nursing school, while being a mom to two amazing kids (one having a couple of disabilities), is challenging, but I have been dedicated to making it work.

Unfortunately, my family and I were recently hit with unexpected water damage (again) to our home. The out-of-pocket costs associated with this have completely derailed our budget, as life tends to do.

Nursing school can be expensive, and I am at a point where this unexpected financial burden is lessening the chance of participating in the concurrent BSN program, though they have offered a small scholarship to help ease the burden. I am reaching out to my friends, family, and community to ask for any support you might be able to offer.

Every single donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward my nursing school expenses so I can pursue the concurrent enrollment, maximize my capabilities, and cross that graduation stage. This would allow me to finish my bachelor's within one semester of graduating with my associate's, instead of over a year's time.

If you are unable to donate, I completely understand. Sharing this page with others or keeping my family in your prayers would mean the absolute world to me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for your continued love and support. I can’t wait to pay this kindness forward once I am officially working as a nurse.

With gratitude,

Rachel
