Hello friends, family, and all whom this story may reach. My niece, Olivia, is currently in critical condition in childrens hospital fighting a necrotizing (flesh eating) bacterial infection. She entered the hospital for diagnostic surgery on Feb. 20th, and was released back home. Within 24 hours an infection developed that put her in life threatening condition. She has undergone at least 4 additional surgeries in the last 4 days to try and get ahead of this and keep her stable.

Update!: Olivia has been allowed to go home! She rounded the corner and has been doing well trying to regain some strength. She will still need oxygen treatments overnight, and we are still waiting on her pathology from the original surgery. She's come a long way, but still has a long journey ahead.

My sweet Olivia is a gentle, loving, happy, genuine soul. She loves her horses, her mom, her papa and grandma….she just loves life. She shares the light she carries in her with everyone she meets, and she is fighting so hard. Olivia is wise beyond her years but embodies the wonderment of a child in everything she does. 

The financial burden of a medical crisis can be debilitating. I have set up this fundraiser to try and help my family off set the costs that are being incurred while my sister and parents are out of state and missing work to be with Olivia at this critical time. Olivia has months of rehab and recovery ahead, and is not out of the woods yet. We are also still waiting on results from the original diagnostic procedure to know what that will mean for her in the scope of her journey back to health…Times are hard in the best circumstances, and any help is tremendous help.
