I  took out a loan with MSU Federal Credit Union and was paying on it when suddenly I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I continued making the monthly payments and have so far paid over $10,000 on this loan but the amount is still the original $20,000 due the terms of the loan. Interest is accrued on a daily basis. It is very hard for me to make these payments because I had to deal with other cancer treatment related expenses. I have tried to work with the credit union but all they did was to make me pay interest only of $300 for three months meanwhile the loan amount was not going down and they say they don't have any way of reducing the interest or changing the terms of the loan.

This has been affecting me emotionally and financially too because I don't see how I can get out of this situation. I still have cancer treatment related expenses to pay for the next 3 years and I am a senior.

If I am assisted I will definitely give back to my community and help someone in need in any way I can. I happen to be that person who is always there for others and it has taken everything in me to come here and ask for help.
