About this fundraiser

Hey everyone, I’m Sei (a gamer) — and if life were an RPG, I’ve definitely been stuck in a long, medically cursed dungeon. Over the last few years, I’ve battled through:

  • Stage 5 kidney failure in 2019
  • A kidney transplant in 2020
  • CMV in 2020
  • Losing 75% of my red blood cells a month later and needing emergency blood transfusions
  • And a hernia that formed when I woke up from the transplant coughing and — surprise! — tore my fresh surgical incision wide open

This hernia has been my not-so-favorite companion for years. It's made daily life uncomfortable, caused ongoing health problems, and reminded me (loudly) that I had unfinished business to take care of. The problem? I wasn’t eligible for the surgery to repair it until I lost a significant amount of weight.

So I did it. I lost over 100 pounds. I committed to the long grind. I did the work.

And just last week — I finally had the hernia repair surgery. 💥
It was about 4 hours long and I spent 4 days in the hospital afterward. Now I’m home, in pain (a lot), taking way more meds than I’d like, and just trying to focus on healing one day at a time.

💬 Why I’m Asking for Help:

I’ve always tried to push through on my own. But recovery requires more than just willpower — it takes supplies, rest, and relief from everyday costs. This Gift A Hand Funding is to help me cover:

One month of bills and rent while I recover

Protein shakes and proper nutrition (gotta feed those regen stats)

Medical supplies like wipes, bandages, ointments, and pain meds

Groceries and household essentials, which have somehow become more expensive than summoning a phoenix down

This isn’t a handout — it’s a way to keep myself stable and focused on healing during one of the most important recovery periods of my life. I’ve come a long way, and I want to make sure I don’t fall backward just because I’m finally taking care of something that should’ve been fixed years ago.

If you’re able to donate, share, or even just send a message of support, I’d be incredibly grateful. Thank you for cheering me on — from my kidney saga to the hernia boss fight and now through this healing phase.

Much love,
Sei
