About this fundraiser

For all of you that know me, you know I don't lie and I don't sugarcoat things. I’m straight to the point. You also know I’ve had my own share of bad luck over the years, but honestly, what someone extremely close to me is going through right now is just completely ridiculous! I have never seen one person hit with such a relentless, brutal run of bad luck in my life, and she needs her village right now.
To give you an idea of who she is: she is the type of person who will give you the shirt off her back even when she has nothing. When we first met years ago, I suddenly got incredibly sick, and she was actually the one who called the ambulance for me. We barely even knew each other at the time, but without a single hesitation, she stepped right in and took care of my kids until I got better.
When my sister passed away, she immediately stepped up and took Francis for me so I could have the space to grieve and handle everything. When I went into labor with Molly, she took my kids without a second thought while I was stuck in the hospital for a month—and she has been a vital part of our lives ever since as Molly’s godmother. A couple of years later when things took a turn and I suffered a heart attack, she was right there again to take the kids—and even though she couldn't physically keep them all at the time, she made sure she kept at least Molly safe with her.
She has spent her entire life being the ultimate safety net for everyone else, and believe me, if I had the financial means to just hand her the money to fix all of this right now, I would do it in a heartbeat because she deserves it.
On top of all the financial and vehicle stress, she is currently navigating a major life transition. She is ready to start a completely fresh, independent chapter focused entirely on providing a stable future for her boys. I want to help her make this clean break and prove that she can thrive on her own, but this has gotten bigger than what I can handle alone, and that’s why I’m turning to you guys.
She is a fiercely private person who usually keeps to herself and tries to handle everything on her own. Between working two jobs and acting as the primary caretaker for her mom, she pours every ounce of her energy into taking care of others.
Right now, she is raising three teenagers at home: her oldest at home who graduates from high school this month; a 17-year-old nephew (who she holds custody of alongside her dad while his father is away); and her 14-year-old son. On top of everything else, the family is still navigating the heavy, heartbreaking grief of losing her little brother this past February.
She does everything to give these boys a stable life, but the universe keeps piling disaster after disaster on her:
Housing, Food, & Graduation Crisis: A family housing situation she thought would bring long-term stability completely fell through, leaving them with no financial safety net. To make matters worse, she recently lost her food stamps and is genuinely struggling to buy basic everyday essentials and groceries. She has been trying so hard to plan a graduation party for her senior, but at the looks of it right now, she won't even be able to give him that celebration.
The Car/Job Nightmare: She was renting a car through Hertz to drive for Uber just to keep food on the table, but after a recent accident, the insurance companies are trying to deny the claims. Now, she's facing massive corporate debt for the rental damage. To make matters worse, her own personal car is completely dead and beyond repair. Without a vehicle, she is on the verge of losing both of her jobs.
I am putting this out there because she would never ask for herself, and she deserves a break. She isn't looking for a handout—she is one of the hardest-working people I know and just wants to provide for her kids independently and stand on her own two feet. She just needs a hand up to get a reliable car, clear this rental mess, and successfully start this next chapter of her life.
How your donations will help:
Reliable Transportation & Independence: Helping her secure a safe vehicle and handling the emergency debt from the rental accident so she can maintain her livelihood and successfully build her independent new life.
Essentials & Graduation: Catching up on basic household needs like groceries and making sure her son gets the graduation celebration he earned.
If you can donate, even a little bit, it would mean the world. If you can’t, please just share this link. Thank you for reading, and thank you for supporting her and her boys.
