Hey everyone! My name is Alison and I'm starting this crowdfund for my stepdad Randy Carter,who was in a car accident this past Monday morning December 15th. He was on his way to St. Marys but on the bridge at Mowen Run Rd, he hit untreated roads with a very bad patch of black ice on the bridge. He got knocked around hitting his head off of his drivers door window as well as the windshield and steering wheel. Randy broke his C2 and C3 in his neck. He was transferred from Penn Highlands St.Marys ER to Penn Highlands Dubois to see certain specialist and we were told he would be in a brace for 12 weeks and he was being sent home.  As his face swelled more and more my mom spoke up and advocated for his care and then they reluctantly agreed to admit him.

As of this morning he is in trauma ICU in Dubois and my mom received a phone call from the hospital. We new that he's was going to look and feel worse before getting better,but this has made a horrible turn and they now are worried about a brain bleed so he is being tested and scanned. Im currently waiting on a update as of 2:30.

My parents are both on a limited income. Randy keeps working at least part time just to keep them floating above water and with his income gone for a unknown amount of time my mom is overwhelmed with stress of losing the house and having utilities cut off on top of hospital co-pays and prescriptions. They are now down a vehicle and the car they have left needs inspected. With my mom dealing with her own health struggles I really worry about how this stress will effect her and I want to help relieve that stress so she can breath and they can both focus on healing.
