About this fundraiser

 INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Elizabeth Murphy. I’m 64 years old and have been married to my husband for 40 wonderful years. He’s 67 and has been in a wheelchair since January. We are both disabled and live on Social Security. I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but after a recent accident, we’re in a very difficult situation and need help.

 THE PROBLEM / CHALLENGE
During the snowstorm in the last week of February, we had a terrible accident that totaled our van. Since then, it has been incredibly hard to get to doctor’s appointments or run even the most basic errands. We’ve been relying on others for rides and trying to cover their gas expenses, but it’s becoming unsustainable. Without a reliable vehicle, our independence and health are at risk.

✅ HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
We are hoping to replace our van with a used Dodge Grand Caravan with Stow & Go seating, which is essential for accommodating my husband’s wheelchair and for ease of access. We’re specifically looking for a vehicle that’s in good condition and doesn’t require repairs.
Here’s how your donations will help:
Purchase of a reliable Dodge Grand Caravan
Registration and title fees
Basic initial costs for insurance and transportation setup
Our goal is to raise a few thousand dollars to cover all of these costs.

 Why This Matters
This vehicle isn’t just transportation it’s our lifeline. It would give us back a sense of freedom, dignity, and the ability to attend medical appointments and manage daily life without being a burden on others. After everything we’ve been through, having safe and accessible transportation would mean the world to us.

 Call to Action
If you’re able to donate, we would be so grateful. Every dollar brings us closer to getting back on the road. And if you can’t give right now, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth Murphy
