  • Medical Update

I wish I had better news to share, but it’s important to be honest.
After following protocol and waiting for appointments and updates, we now have new medical results confirming advanced cirrhosis of the liver, the most severe stage of liver disease. We don’t yet know how much liver function remains or how quickly things may progress — that will depend on specialist appointments we’re still waiting to schedule. What we do know is that the risk of serious complications is high, and the possibility of a liver transplant is now very real.
Over the past week, his health has been declining quickly but he is fighting through it. Despite following every medical instruction, protocol, and diet exactly as prescribed, this is where things stand.
Rico was recently offered a job and was so excited to start, which gave the family a brief moment of hope — but with this new information, they don’t even know if he’ll be able too. Doctors have given strict limitations, and pushing his body right now could be dangerous.
The financial strain is growing fast. Unable to work, and medical expenses, transportation, and a required (and costly) medical diet are ongoing necessities. So far, we’ve raised $2,000, and we are incredibly grateful — but the need is now urgent.
If you’ve already donated, thank you.
If you’ve been meaning to donate, now truly matters.
If you can’t donate, please share.
Cash App and Venmo are linked for those who prefer to give that way.
Ryan is still smiling and joking — still being Ryan — but this is real, and time matters.
Most of all, Ryan and his family deeply appreciate your thoughts — and especially your prayers — as they continue walking through this uncertainty.
Thank you for continuing to support this family when they need it most. đź’›
