Mar and her 80-year-old mother, who courageously face the challenges of dementia, are struggling in the remote mountains of Maine with no running water and harsh living conditions. This hardship began when they lost their VA income and have been fighting for nearly four years to have it restored. Despite being on the housing list for two years, they still find themselves without a stable home. Mar cannot work until they secure a safe place where her mother can be left without the risk of harm. They’ve saved $1,200 toward moving into an apartment but need $2,200 to make this critical move.
