Brittany has Christian MediShare coverage which is not traditional medical insurance. Her minimum out of pocket costs will be $12,000 before any expenses are eligible for coverage. In addition, she may also still be responsible for up to 20% of her medical care costs beyond her huge deductible.

Brittany will be unable to work for quite a while as she undergoes her mastectomies, possible chemo and radiation treatments and then reconstruction surgery. Therefore, she will not be able to contribute any income to her family.
