My wife was admitted into the hospital on 2/17/26 because she had so much fluid build up that it was seeping through her pores. The Lasix was not working, and she gained at least 50 pounds of water weight. Her kidneys were not functioning properly because of the fluid, and the doctors have started her on dialysis to try and help get the fluid off. they are talking possible heart transplant or a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD). She is also on other medications to get everything else under control. This has been an incredibly difficult and frightening time for both of us, and we are doing everything we can to support her recovery.   As you can imagine, the medical bills are already piling up, and we are also facing challenges with paying our utilities and mortgage while she is in the hospital. On top of that, we will need to arrange for homecare once she is able to come home, which is another significant expense.
