My name is Raymond Marcotte. My only brother, Justin Marcotte, is currently in the ICU, heavily sedated and on a ventilator. He went to Landmark Medical Center on Sunday, December 8th, for issues that started with his throat, including difficulty breathing. They discovered severe swelling in his throat, his lips, and his tongue that left them with no option other than to intubate him so that he can continue to breathe. He currently has a feeding tube as well. They're not sure if the swelling is due to an infection or an allergic reaction. He is sedated to help his body receive aggressive meds and to keep him under, as it is very stressful and difficult to have tubes down your nose and throat. He is aware of what is going on around him when spoken to but unable to respond at the moment. He's unresponsive to touch. The medical team seems optimistic about his recovery but doesn't have a timeline as they still have unanswered questions. As of right now, he is not making progress, and the swelling is not going down. The biggest concern is the possibility of going into cardiac arrest or stroke. As of writing this, he has been intubated for almost 36 hours.
I am creating this Give a Hand to help with his medical bills and to help his girlfriend, Sara Sherman, keep up with bills for them and their two children during this holiday season as Justin is unable to generate income during his treatment. The cost of his medical bills and after treatment will be hefty for sure so Anything you guys can do helps out. I will be making arrangements to fly out to Rhode Island as well to help out with everything.
