About this fundraiser

I am making this fundraiser for my niece who has been diagnosed with MALS Syndrome. MALS Syndrome is a rare condition where the median arcuate ligament puts pressure on the celiac artery and surrounding nerves that comes off of the aorta to send blood to the stomach, spleen, and liver. This causes my ten year old niece severe belly pain, especially after eating and/or playing. So through this my niece is afraid when she eats and plays, which is something a ten year old child should not have to worry about. They meet with the surgeon in Akron this week, and surgery will be scheduled before the end of the month.

My sister is not the type to open her mouth and say she is struggling or ask for help, so that is my reason for creating this fundraiser.

She has not been able to keep a steady work schedule as she is with my niece 24/7 due to having to pull her out of school to home school while she is trying to keep her baby healthy. This has been an over two year journey trying to find out what was wrong. The only fix for this is surgery, which is going to put an added strain financially with the back and forth to Akron (which she has already been dealing with). Any dollar donated would be greatly appreciated, as any share of this post would also be appreciated. I just want to be able to lessen the financial strain with the gas, my sister staying in Akron with Tatiana, as she will be in the hospital for a few days following surgery, any med supplies she may need, any special diet foods she will need to buy, as well as any clothing/pajamas or anything she will need to make Tatiana more comfortable through all of this.

After the surgery, she will still need to go back and forth for follow-up appointments, as well as the testing/appointments that are already scheduled following the surgery for a small cyst that was also found on her right kidney.

Her family has already been on this journey for two plus years, while my sister has been going at it with people, teachers, administrators who acted as if this was all in her head. My sister shut that all down as she knew there was something genuinely wrong with her child. Please help me to allow my sister to let her guard down a little and be able to just focus on helping her baby girl feel better without all the added stress on top of an already terrifying situation for parents.

Again, genuine thanks to all of you who take the time to read, donate, or share.
