About this fundraiser

This past Tuesday, June 18.  Our kitten, Tiger, ran outside when the front door was open returning home late in the evening.  He didn’t show up the next day, and there was blood on our patio.  We believed he was attacked and would not return.. By Thursday the 20th we accepted he was gone for good until that evening he showed up on are patio scratching at the back door.  We were beyond happy to see he was alive, but noticed his mouth had been injured and disfigured.  We took him straight to the emergency vet since it was already 8:00pm.  The doctors were able to give him pain meds, take X-rays, and hook him up to and IV since he could not eat on his own.. They took good care of him through the night.  The next morning we found out that he had multiple fractures on the left side of his jaw.  The doctor believes the injuries were the result of a coyote attack or he was hit by a car.  We were advised to take him to the vet dentist.  There we were told his left jaw was shattered all the way to the joint and the he would need reconstructive jaw surgery. Also, that he would loose some teeth.  The surgery was an emergency since he could not eat on his own.   In order for the jaw to heal correctly, Tiger’s teeth have to be bonded together so he can not open his mouth, and a feeding tube has to be inserted.  The good news is that because he is so young he will heal very fast, and  he will only have to be in this state 3-5 weeks.  He needs special food for his feeding tube, and a few more appointments coming up.  The vet dentist he was referred to is about an hour away. Through all this we are so happy he is still with us and glad he can celebrate with Kylie for her sweet 16, and his first birthday in one month.  Tiger is Kylie‘s favorite kitty and he means the world to her.  So for this birthday she is asking for help in raising money for the cost of everything.  We would greatly appreciate any amount and totally understand if you are not able to help this time..  We are hoping for the best for Tiger as he moves along this healing journey.
