Dear friends and family 

I hope this letter finds you well. I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share some news about my best friend of over 30 years, Timothy Jones, who has been diagnosed with Stage III High Level Spindle Cell Fibro Sarcoma Cancer.

This rare and aggressive cancer begins in the connective tissue of the arms or legs, eventually spreading to the lungs. Tim is facing a challenging road ahead, involving multiple stages of treatment. The plan includes several months of intense chemotherapy using Ifosfamide & Doxorubicin, followed by 4 weeks of radiation, surgery by a specialized sarcoma surgeon, and then several additional rounds of chemotherapy.

Tim is scheduled for crucial MRI and X-ray scans on January 24th, and the results will determine the next steps. If cancer is detected in the lungs, all treatment will cease, and focus will shift to end-of-life care.

The treatment facility is located in Miami at the University of Miami Hospital, requiring Tim to travel two hours away from home for one week of round-the-clock daily chemotherapy sessions. Following this, he'll need to return home for two weeks but must make 2-3 weekly trips for lab work and IV treatments.

Unfortunately, Tim's medical condition has forced him to take a leave from work, resulting in a loss of income. Tim has consistently extended his support to everyone, including strangers - the go-to person for advice, a ride, or a comforting shoulder. He never hesitated to offer assistance, providing unwavering support without question and expressing love and care to everyone in his circle regardless of their relationship to him. As someone who has always prioritized others above himself, Tim now needs our support more than ever. The financial burden of medical expenses, travel, and daily living costs is overwhelming.
