**Facing Paralysis or Homelessness — A Disabled Mom’s Quiet Fight for Hope”

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about my cause.. For those of you who know me then are aware of the countless health battles I have faced for many years!

For those who don’t know me ….Hello my name is Sandy. I am a mother to 3 handsome sons. I have been disabled since I was 35. However as a mom I am determined to doing my best to hold everything together for my family, especially my youngest son who still lives at home solely relying on me.

I’ve lived with multiple health conditions, including being diagnosed with a rare disability. One that affects my whole body’s vascular, immune and digestive systems. In March (2024) I had surgery to have rods placed in two of my toes and foot which took about 4 months of recovery. As  we approached April(2024) I had to have another surgery on both legs due to vascular issues. Now  moving to  July (2024)  I was admitted thru the emergency room to undergo emergency back surgery. After having rods placed in my lower lumbar, I awoke being able to celebrate my 50th bday in the hospital mobile!! That was a gift I am so grateful for!  Improving and moving forward I faced a month of recovery, being treated as an inpatient then rehab and physical therapy. The healing process has been long, painful, and emotionally exhausting— Especially for my youngest son..  Adding accumulating hospital bills and the expenses of living has made it incredibly hard to keep up financially.

Now, I’m facing another serious health crisis. Because of (DDD) the vertebrae and degenerated discs in my neck are now compressing my spinal cord and nerves, and without immediate surgery to place stabilizing hardware. The odds of  becoming  paralyzed by just one slight hit are against me. I have began to feel unfamiliar sensations through out my arms and legs. For peace of mind  and yet another critical surgery looming I consulted three doctors and all agreed:; I need to have rods placed in my neck:, so now surgery is no longer optional—it’s urgent!

But there’s a heavy cost beyond the medical side. This surgery requires 4 to 6 months of recovery, with absolutely no driving, and strict limitations that make it nearly impossible to do without any support . I may not just become paralyzed  if I do not have this critical surgery…but due to the time it takes for recovery (4-6months) we could lose our home. I am unable make or do anything to provide, especially after so many challenges we faced during this difficult journey..

I’ve survived so many serious health issues that I was  even once told I will only live for maybe five more years. That was 7 years ago, but  God kept me here. I’m still fighting. I want my son to have his youth without the fear of eviction or watching his mom helplessly hurting.  I can see the desperation in his eyes wanting to be able to do more. This is not a burden that is meant for a child to carry.

If you’re able to help-us in any way—whether through a donation , prayers or simply sharing—we thank you from the bottom of our heart. Your kindness gives us a fighting chance. We know that Gods arms are wrapped tight around us and that’s our comfort .
