Emergency Fundraiser – Help Me Stay Safe and Keep a Roof Over My Head

I'm reaching out with deep humility and urgency. I’m currently facing an incredibly distressing and unsafe living situation, and I need your help.

I live in a rent-stabilized unit through the NYC Housing Lottery. What should have been a safe, stable home has turned into an ongoing nightmare. Shortly after moving in, a building employee—someone I’ve never interacted with personally or professionally—began targeting me. For two years, I stayed silent, hoping the harassment would stop. Instead, it escalated.

Misinformation began to spread among residents, and I became the target of relentless harassment—all while I was dealing with a personal trauma. I reported everything to management and the landlord, but they are known for ignoring tenants' complaints, especially when it involves staff misconduct.

Instead of helping, the new Property Manager retaliated against me. I received a Cease and Desist letter of false allegations regarding noise complaints. This was followed by an eviction notice. Thankfully, a few kind neighbors came forward and spoke in my defense.  Their support angered management further. In retaliation, the Property Manager began sending threatening letters, illegally locking me out and I suspect he even went as far as contacting my last two employers—accusing me of harassment, which led to me losing my job without any investigation. He is attempting to financially strain me, to start an eviction.  Additionally, he has stalked me on and  off the premises. The NYPD views this as harassment, and will not investigate. All  of this has been well documented.

Just recently the PM released my personal information, such as  my phone, address, etc.,   to a person unknown to me.  They confirmed it came from him and now I receive frightening and unwanted contact from unknown individuals. I no longer feel safe in my home. Even more disturbing is he has interjected himself into the recertification process and has  even  further  personal information about me.

I have been renting in the city for over 40 years, and never have experienced  harassment. I often keep to myself, and very respectful neighbor. I’m raising funds to cover my rent, utilities, and hire an attorney.  If I’m able to raise enough, I hope to move out entirely and rebuild my life somewhere I can feel secure.

This is not easy to share, but your support—whether it’s financial, sharing this page, or sending encouragement—means the world to me. No one should have to live in fear in their own home.

Thank you for listening and for standing with me.
