About this fundraiser

My little sister, Tonya Shantel Frye was only 32 years old when she recently passed away. A few weeks ago our family had gotten a phone call from UK hospital telling us that our little sister was in the ICU unit and on life support due to the fact she was found in the park unresponsive and brought to the hospital. Over these past few weeks we've prayed for her to wake up and come back to us. Unfortunately we were told she was never going to be better cause she didn't have any brain activity and never would again. We weren't giving up on our little sister yet and she held on for as long as she could. Tragically she has passed away, her little body couldn't fight any longer. Tonya was a sweet girl with a beautiful heart and we loved her from the moment she was born. When our mother unexpectedly passed away,Tonya left nicholasville and we lost contact for a while. She took mom's death very hard , leading to alcohol and drugs to numb the pain. Even though she was doing things like that she was still our little sister and we loved her no matter what. A few weeks ago she was found unresponsive and brought to the hospital to the ICU unit. We were told her brain was not showing any activity, meaning she would never wake up. The decision to take her off the machine was agreed to not happen. Tonya had held on for as long as she could. Even though we prayed, begged and pleaded for a miracle, our little sister passed away Wednesday night. I don't want her to be labelled just another drug addict to be forgotten and ignored. She was more than that, she was our little baby sister and she matters.
