My family and I can use all of the help/prayers we can get! My wife and I were expecting twins and the unexpected happened yesterday, 12/2/2024. We went in for a check up because my wife had thought she lost her mucus plug and was having some really bad pains in her abdominal/pelvic area. They ONLY took a urine sample and within about a half hour, told her that she had a UTI (urinary tract infection) and she was 24 weeks along in her pregnancy, due March 12th, 2025. They didn’t do any kind of checks or anything to make sure that babies were okay as well. They gave her an antibiotic and told us to go home so she can get some rest and let the antibiotic do its job. So we went home, she got in the bath for about an hour to soak, and was complaining about contractions (4th pregnancy) and still having severe pain. We waited a little while before deciding to try and go to a different clinic and seeing if we can get some better answers as to what was going on. They told us that they don’t see patients with the doctor we had but were telling us the same thing that we were told by the first nurse and said the contractions she was feeling were just bladder contractions. So, we decided to go back home knowing that we were told the same thing by multiple people now. The next morning (yesterday, 12/2/2024) she was still having the contraction pain and still feeling worse than she did when she initially went in. I was getting ready for work and decided to take her in before going to work. We FINALLY had a doctor come in and check on her. The doctor told her that she was fully dilated and the babies were going to be born. My wife and I are still in disbelief and shock that all of this happened the way that it did. Our twin girls were born by C-Section at 8:05AM on 12/2/2024. Both girls, Aurora Sue and Charolette Marie weighed 1lb 6oz and 1lb 10oz. We have 5 other children at home and our babies were transported to the NICU an hour away. We are both struggling back and forth between our girls and our family. Everything is such a blur and still so unreal to us. I am currently out of work for the time being and we are going to be severely struggling financially. I’m at a loss for words how just this last day and a half has affected our lives. I’m so hopeful that God is doing what he can to keep these girls safe and to keep us in His loving hands through these tough and difficult times for us, but any prayers or help would be greatly appreciated.
