Why I’m Asking for Your Help

Inever imagined I would be in a position where I’d need to ask for financial help for something so deeply personal. But today, I’m choosing vulnerability because this step is essential to my well-being and my future.

As a transgender woman, I live with gender dysphoria that affects many areas of my life but one of the most painful triggers is my voice. Every phone call, every introduction, every public interaction can become a moment of anxiety. My voice often doesn’t reflect who I truly am. That disconnect can lead to misgendering, emotional distress, and a constant feeling of not being seen or heard as my authentic self.

Vocal feminization surgery is not cosmetic for me  it is medically affirming and life-changing. It would help align my voice with my identity, reduce daily dysphoria, and allow me to move through the world with greater confidence, safety, and peace.

This procedure is expensive and not fully covered by insurance. Despite working hard and doing everything I can to save, the cost is beyond what I can manage alone. That’s why I’m asking for help.

Your donation  no matter the amount  is more than financial support. It is an investment in my mental health, my safety, and my ability to live freely as myself. It’s a step toward healing. It’s a step toward finally feeling whole.

If you cannot donate, sharing my story means just as much. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with me during one of the most important journeys of my life.

With gratitude,

Joy Isabella ❤️🙏
