Hello And thank you for taking the time to read my story. On April 25, 2025, I had a life-changing accident while riding an electric bike. Despite not being sick or having cancer, I find myself in need of assistance. After the brakes failed, I made a split-second decision to jump off the bike to avoid hitting a wall at 17 mph, but unfortunately, I ended up sustaining severe injuries. I broke my tibia, fibula, and shattered my knee cap, requiring three major surgeries and a tibia plateau surgery, with the addition of metal rods, plates, and screws to stabilize my bones. This incident has left me in a challenging situation at 55 years old, as I am currently undergoing physical rehabilitation. The apartment I currently reside in has three flights of stairs with no elevator, making it impossible for me to be discharged from rehab and leaving me in urgent need of relocation to a place with no stairs. I am unable to bear weight on my leg for three months, necessitating the use of a walker and a wheelchair.
