Over the past few years, our daughter Helen has faced immense mental health challenges. In November, after enduring severe bullying and battling deep depression, Helen attempted to take her life. By the grace of God, her attempt failed, and we are so incredibly grateful to still have her here with us, continuing her journey toward healing and hope.
While her journey is far from over, we are committed to walking alongside her, every step of the way, through the victories and the struggles.
Helen is incredibly resilient, despite being dealt a difficult hand. With several diagnosis, medication and therapy, she has worked hard to regain her footing and is now attending outpatient therapy to support her healing. As a family, we are educating ourselves and working closely with her care team to ensure she has the tools she needs to thrive.
To further support Helen’s journey, we are exploring a life-changing resource: a service dog. A trained service dog could help Helen navigate her daily challenges by offering emotional support, grounding her during moments of anxiety, and providing companionship to foster her independence.
However, the cost of acquiring and training a service dog is substantial. This is where we need your help. We will be working with a training program callrf Sally Said So! These funds will directly cover the cost of the program from helping match with the right breed for her needs to the public test and official paperwork.
With your generosity, we can take the steps toward securing the perfect service dog for Helen. Every dollar raised will go directly toward covering the costs of bringing this incredible resource into her life.
Thank you for taking the time to read Helen’s story. Your support—whether through a donation, sharing her story, or simply sending good thoughts our way—means the world to us. Together, we can help Helen continue her journey toward healing, connection, and hope.
