Amy and Brice’s journey into parenthood has been full of challenges and incredible strength.

At 36 weeks pregnant, Amy was admitted to the hospital with severe headaches, back pain, and dangerously high blood pressure. After several days of monitoring for preeclampsia, she needed an emergency C-section to protect both her and her baby. Their daughter, Sydney, spent six days in the NICU before she was finally strong enough to come home.

Amy was discharged still experiencing severe back pain, and the days that followed were frightening. For more than a week, she was in terrible pain and struggling to find answers until a home visiting Nurse finally advocated for her — leading to the diagnosis of postpartum preeclampsia, a serious and potentially life-threatening condition.

Amy is now focused on recovery while caring for Sydney, but she’s unable to return to work at this time, and her job does not offer any paid maternity leave. Brice has continued working when he can while helping care for both Amy and their newborn. Balancing recovery, work, and a new baby has been overwhelming, and they could use a bit of help from family and friends to get through this difficult time.

This fundraiser will help Amy and Brice:

• Cover three months of rent and essential bills
• Catch up on internet and car insurance payments
• Afford groceries, baby supplies, and medical expenses while Amy heals

Our goal is to raise $5,000, which would give them the breathing room to recover, care for Sydney, and get back on their feet.
