Pateresa Margaret Ferreira, age 65, passed away on October 2, 2026 at VCU Medical Center.

Pateresa loved deeply and gave selflessly, opening her home and her heart to so many throughout the years. She welcomed everyone with a warm embrace and a smile that made you feel instantly at home. She was larger than life, with a presence that could light up any room she entered. To know Pateresa was to laugh, to share in her joy, her warmth, and her unforgettable spirit. She was fiercely protective of those she loved, whether they were family by blood, by marriage, or simply by proximity. To Pateresa, family was not defined by a name or a connection, but by love, and she loved fiercely, completely, and without hesitation. Pateresa was a fighter in every sense of the word, facing years of health challenges with remarkable courage, strength, and unwavering determination.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Seymour.

She is survived by her children, Roxanna Seymour and Amanda Ferreira (Mike) and her grandchildren, Jada Thomas, Jarell Thomas, Michael Jones, Jr., Jazlyn Martin, Mekhi Jones, and Mateo Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support her grandchildren in their future endeavors, something she wanted so badly to be an integral part of.  The family is grateful for your generosity and for helping to honor Pateresa Ferreira's legacy.
