In May 2025, our daughter Sarah was lifeflighted from Idaho to Utah to give birth to her twin girls, Quinn and Harper, a month early. During the pregnancy, doctors had discovered that Quinn had a heart condition, but at the time, we did not yet know just how serious it would be.

After she was born, Quinny was diagnosed with Pulmonary Atresia with an Intact Ventricular Septum, which falls under the HLHS spectrum. She is currently supported by a device called a Berlin Heart, which is helping keep her stable while she waits for a heart transplant. Quinny has now been on the Berlin Heart for much longer than anyone hoped, and we are desperately praying that a heart becomes available for her soon.

Because Quinny cannot be moved, Sarah has had to remain in Utah indefinitely to stay close to her daughter’s medical team. That meant giving up her job, her livelihood, and the life she had built in Idaho.

For the past year, Sarah was able to stay at Ronald McDonald House while caring for Harper and spending every possible moment she could with Quinny at the hospital. But families are only allowed to stay there for a limited time, and Sarah has now had to leave.

After an incredibly difficult year, Sarah was finally able to find an apartment nearby—a small bit of stability in the middle of an unimaginable situation. But shortly after they got the apartment, her husband left, and she is now trying to keep that stability for herself and the girls on her own.

Sarah cannot return to work while she is caring for Harper and staying present for Quinny through this critical time. She is now responsible for rent, utilities, groceries, diapers, formula, transportation, and all the basic expenses that come with keeping herself and her daughters safe and housed in Utah.

As her family, we are doing everything we possibly can to help financially. Sarah has tried to access support in Utah, but there is very little help available to her as an Idaho resident, and the red tape has been overwhelming. Right now, she needs practical help to keep a roof over her girls’ heads while Quinny waits for the heart transplant she so desperately needs.

We are raising funds to help Sarah keep her apartment and cover essential living expenses, including rent, utilities, food, diapers, formula, transportation, and other basic needs while she continues to care for Harper and stay close to Quinny.
