Maggie has had 13 years of a wonderful life filled with love and fun. She has spent 11 of those years with us. She is an extension to our family. She’s the family dog to everyone who meets her but her person is my 13 year old son. Unfortunately Maggie has Cushings and has deteriorated significantly in the past few months. Losing muscle, she can barely make it up steps. She continues to lose weight and fights incontinence. She cannot be left alone with other animals due to her food aggression but she is so weak, if a fight happened, she would be the one injured. We do not want to be selfish and make her suffer for our emotional benefit. Seeing her being a shell of who she truly is, is heartbreaking. Unfortunately I am a single parent of 4 who barely gets by with the amazing career I have. I just don’t have the money to put her down peacefully.
