À propos de cette collecte de fonds

My daughter Claire was involved in a very bad car accident a few days ago.

After working multiple double shifts at 2 jobs, she unfortunately ran off the highway. Her car rolled and is a total loss. She had two very bad injuries from the accident: a badly torn patella tendon and multiple ankle breaks, along with multiple lacerations on her arms and face.

The police are investigating the accident.

Update. They are keeping her rather than let her go home before her next surgery. The length of hospital stay is now unknown.

We are grateful that she had no spinal injuries and managed to avoid a concussion, even though she has bad cuts and scrapes to her face.

A little about Claire.

Claire was very instrumental in helping me, a single dad, raise her little brother. She’s a thoughtful, sweet, very hard-working girl. She would give a complete stranger the shirt off her back if it helped. She’s always happy, even though she hasn’t had it easy. She’s definitely not the type to ask anyone for help or charity.

But this accident is causing an extended hospital stay and multiple surgeries to repair her tendon and ankle. She will likely have a six-month recovery before she can return to work. She’s had one surgery where they installed an external “cage” and screws into her bone to stabilize her ankle until they can do the follow-up surgeries to repair it internally.

Sadly, she was not yet eligible for health insurance at work. So the extensive hospital bill will be her responsibility. We have no clue what her hospital bill will be, but we are afraid it will be a huge, scary amount.

I unfortunately can only help her so much, including taking off work myself to nurse her back to at least being able to get around slowly.

I also wouldn’t ask for help, but this will certainly be overwhelming financially, as well as for her longer-term care to get mobile again.

Anything you can give would be a blessing and help to her.

Thank you for caring and considering your donation.
