Moose is a 16-year-old mastiff-labrador mix and the gentlest giant you'll ever meet. We rescued him from Front Street Shelter in 2019, and he has brought so much love into our lives ever since. After years of health challenges, including dysplasia, muscle loss, and thousands in vet care, we have reached the hardest moment: it's time to say goodbye.
Moose has stopped getting up, stopped drinking water, and is clearly in pain. Our vet agrees that euthanasia is the most humane choice right now, and we need to act quickly.
What we want most is to be with him when he goes - to hold him, tell him he's a good boy, and let him feel loved in his final moments. An in-home euthanasia and private cremation would give us that gift, but the cost is beyond what we can manage right now. As a solo small business owner, I have spent everything I had on his vet bills and pain medication this past month.
Any amount helps. If we raise enough, we can bring a vet to our home so Moose can pass peacefully in a familiar space, surrounded by love - and we can bring him home one last time in ashes. If we fall short, we will do our best with the resources we have.
Moose deserves a goodbye as beautiful as the life he lived. Thank you for caring. ❤️
