On August 15th 2026, our mommas healthy life took a turn. She suffered a stroke out of nowhere! She was taken to the ER where a CT confirmed that she indeed had a stroke in the Thalmus area. She was transported via ambulance to Harris hospital downtown Ft Worth Texas where an MRI confirmed three areas of her brain was damaged. Her speech is slurred and her left eye is seeing double. her walking is leaned to the right side. Our mommas healthy life has dedicated her life to cooking for the elderly and her family. She has God on her side as well as her family. 
     The doctors believe that she had undiagnosed atrial fibrillatio which caused a blood clot in her heart that broke loose and traveled to her brain. She will have to have therapy for speech, possible home health and modifications to her home such as railings to get on the porch and bars in the bathroom. She will be on several new medications when she leaves and now has an implanted heart monitor. Any and all donations will go towards her recovery, therapies, medications and anything that comes up that’s unexpected due to this diagnosis. I have to add this to help you und our mommas healthy life. Around 3 months ago I could tell something was bothering her so I asked her. She said that she would have to pray extra hard that night because she had lied to a patient about using two packs of oatmeal instead of one. It bothered her so much that she lied just because the difficult patient didn’t want her oatmeal runny. THAT is our mommas. Caring, compassionate and always puts others first. This is the first time since having her children that she has had a hospital stay. I think that’s what was so shocking. Anything will help us as we navigate through unknown waters to try and adjust to this new lifestyle for her. I know the economy is hard for everyone, if you’re unable to help could you please share this with all your friends and say a prayer for her recovery. P.S. if you have an elderly parent on Medicare- PLEASE make sure they are on traditional A & B, we have learned that hers (Humana) pays very little of anything.
