This year, my Mom is facing two major surgeries—one in March and another in June. Both are necessary because of complications from prior surgeries. My parents are both employees of Pinellas County Schools, and have always worked hard to provide for our family. Unfortunately, their employer changed our insurance plan this year. They used to have a copay and never worried about bills arriving in the mail. Now, with the new plan, they have a deductible and coinsurance, which has made their medical expenses skyrocket. 

For the first surgery, the hospital estimated the financial responsibility to be significant, and the June surgery will likely cost even more. These unexpected costs are a huge burden on our family, and we are struggling to keep up. The funds raised here will go directly toward paying these medical bills, helping us manage the financial strain and focus on my recovery.
