My son George was born With Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, this Disease although it has toolth in the name had nothing to do with your teeth, but everything to do with your peripheral nerve and muscular deterioration. Unfortunately there is no current cure for CMT, but rather several forms of physical therapy and surgeries to elevate problems that occur as well as many, many doctors visits. Currently George is needing monthly physical and occupational therapy visits and 3 month visits with is doctor and neurologist. Although insurance covers the therapy and doctors visits, genetic testing and the cost of traveling From Grand Junction to Salt Lake isn't always affordable for our family. With myself being disabled and his father being the only working parent, and 2 younger siblings……. Paying bills tend to take every penny made. Although my husband works very hard to provide for our family, there are only so many hours in a day. So here I am asking, begging for help to be able to get our son back and forth to his appointments that allow him to still be a child. Due to his chronic pain we generally have to take things at a slower pace, this means leaving a day early, making many stops to stretch his legs, and finding ways of keeping him comfortable on the long rides. All funds raise will go for gas, hotel stays, snacks for the 3 kids and comfort accommodation for George, as well as medical expenses that are not covered by insurance.  Please help us keep our little boy able to be a kids and have the treatments and possible surgeries he needs to be an able bodied kid.
