Buttoning Up for Amanda

Amanda Dewberry has always been the kind of person who holds things together.

She is a wife who loves deeply, a mother whose heart stretches endlessly for her children, a daughter who shows up, a sister who listens, and a friend who lifts others higher than herself. Life has asked a lot of Amanda over the years. She has known loss in ways many people never should — the heartbreak of losing a sister and the unimaginable pain of losing a son. Yet even through grief, Amanda kept showing up for the people she loves.

Recently, life handed her another challenge. Amanda was diagnosed with breast cancer.

There is no guidebook for hearing those words, and certainly no preparation for facing them without the safety net of insurance. Suddenly, the days fill with doctor visits, treatments, medications, and the quiet anxiety of bills that seem to multiply daily. Weekly costs become monthly burdens, and the simple act of healing becomes tangled with financial worry.

But if you know Amanda, you know something about her spirit.

Amanda works with artists — helping others find their creativity, encouraging people to pick up brushes, colors, and courage. She believes art has the power to heal hearts, to bring people together, and to remind us that beauty can still exist even when life feels fragile. Every day she pours her energy into helping others create something meaningful.

And that is who Amanda has always been: a creator of hope.

Her nickname, lovingly given by those around her, is “Buttons.” Not because of anything flashy or loud, but because Amanda has always been the one quietly fastening things together. When life starts to come apart, Amanda is the one buttoning it back up — holding family, friendships, and communities together with patience, kindness, and strength.

Even now, while facing cancer, Amanda continues doing what she has always done. She shows up for her family. She encourages others. She keeps smiling through the hard days and stays strong for the people she loves.

But even the strongest hearts need help sometimes.

Right now Amanda is doing everything she can to hold her world together, but the weight of medical costs and daily life is heavy. The bills don’t pause for courage. They don’t slow down for healing.

This is the moment when the community Amanda has poured so much into can help return that love.

If you’ve ever been inspired by Amanda, if you’ve ever been encouraged by her kindness, if you believe in lifting someone who has spent her life lifting others — now is the time.

Let’s help Button Up for Amanda.

Let’s help fasten the pieces together while she focuses on what matters most: healing, loving her family, and continuing to be the beautiful, creative spirit who brings light into the lives of so many.
