About this fundraiser

While this is difficult to write, and we are devastated. It has come to the time where we think we need some help and prayers.
My mother, Lynne Tossava had been fighting a bad sore throat for over two weeks. Despite talking to her doctors and being on antibiotics, it never subsided. Finally, my daughter and I forced her to the emergency room. She was in such bad condition, she couldn’t breathe, couldn't hardly walk. She was immediately brought into trauma. A couple hours later I received a call that she was being airlifted to a hospital more equipped for her needs. They said, she was much more sicker than we had ever thought and they had a suspicion of cancer.
She was flown down to Detroits Henry Ford Hospital. She has been here for about a week and a half. She has since been confirmed acute myeloid leukemia. The news however just keeps getting worse. She also has spots on her lungs. We aren’t sure if it’s pneumonia, or the cancer spreading. Her infections due to having zero immunity are all over her body. Her throat hurts so bad she can’t eat. Her breathing has taken a turn for the worse since lastnight. We can’t start the chemotherapy until these infections are under control.
I have spoken with a social worker. They are applying to some grants. However, if the enrollment isn’t open it may not be useful. She is going to need to recieve her chemotherapy here in Detroit as an inpatient. Marquette simply doesn’t have the resources to take this on at such a high intensity.  This means I will be continuing to take time off work to be here with her. We have limited funds to continue the trips as well as co-pays depending on what isn’t covered. I am currently sleeping in a recliner next to her in her hospital room. There just aren’t funds for hotels.
Even if you don't have the means to help, sending prayers and well wishes would be appreciated. Sending a message to her is helpful also!
Thank you all.
