My Son's is 5 and suffers from Autism. It has been a huge struggle. We have been on waiting lists for over 6-9months to get him care with care facilities that accept his insurance. Most places either don't accept his insurance or if they do its a long wait list, to get immediate care they want self pay. With my sons condition he needs help immediately. If he wants something for example a toy, he will scream and hit himself, flop around on floor and try breaking things until he gets it. If I try to just wait it out, it will go on without stop for over 3-4 hours until he's given himself bruises and is choking from crying and screaming so hard. His Mother can't work because he has separation anxiety so bad that she has to shower when he's sleeping, and can't even go to restroom without him pounding on door. If she leaves house without him he has a complete episode of screaming etc until she's back. We are down to one income, and even more than that, it's put a huge strain on our relationship and family. We love our son unconditionally and it's so hard seeing him like this. We did get him into occupational therapy at a place I won't name, but the guy working with him was asking us what to do, after several appointments zero got accomplished. We need to get him set up for several types of care, including in home care, and a process where during his episodes we are wearing ear pieces and get instructions on how to handle in real time. We've called every place offering this, and it will require payment out of pocket. Everyone has things close to their own families and asking for anyone to help a stranger I know is unlikely, but I wasn't sure where else to turn. I tried another platform with zero donations, but when your kids need help you keep trying.
