i have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos syndrome along with other comorbidities and i am fundraising for a manual wheelchair myself since my insurance has denied the request. my doctor submitted the necessary paperwork. i also saw a physical therapist for assessment and insurance denied based on me not needing it in the home. my home is not wheelchair accessible and i have other mobility aids i can use indoor such as a cane or rollator, my insurance knows this.

i ask for a manual wheelchair so that i am less isolated and able to experience things other people my age do like go shopping and go to the park without feeling like om going to pass out or have excruciating pain. i am 27 and havent been to a concert since i was 17 because i cant stand that long. if i am out of the house more than 2 hours standing or walking i am in incredible pain and will flare the next day and the days following. sometimes for a week or more.

i cannot express how grateful i would feel if i was able to pay for this, especially through the help of others. sometimes i dread leaving the house because i have no idea how it will effect me or for how long.
