About this fundraiser

As many of you know, in August of 2024, I was rushed to the hospital via EMS after suddenly vomiting blood from a then-unknown stomach tumor (GIST) and nearly dying on my bathroom floor. During that two-week hospital stay, I had emergency surgery, seven blood transfusions, and nearly died four times.

In November, I had a follow-up surgery to remove the full tumor, which was initially missed because my surgical team needed to clean out an additional mass of blood and a spot on my liver.

During this time, I have been recovering, in a great deal of pain, and unable to return to work. My partner and I have been struggling to cover basic expenses like rent, utilities and groceries and our belts cannot be tightened any more.

This week, my surgical oncologist received my pathology report, which determined that while my GIST is not cancerous, it is likely to return, either in my stomach or elsewhere in my digestive tract, so I’m being referred to an oncologist for continued care.

Any help to contribute to my growing pile of bills and living expenses would be greatly appreciated if you’re able to comfortably do so. I have modest insurance coverage and am working with St. David’s charity program, but there’s still a sizable gap in the assistance needed.
