I have been the caregiver for all three of my children since birth. While breastfeeding my now 1-year-old daughter, I started to feel discomfort. After months of medical staff neglecting my symptoms and false diagnosis, I was informed of stage 2A breast cancer. The treatment team scheduled me for chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. The full plan will last over nine months, after which I will take up to five years of medication. The chemotherapy and oncology visits alone number in the forties during the next five months.

During the chemo, I will be too weak to care for my children and provide their homeschool lessons. Unfortunately, my husband must continue working to provide for our family during these trying times. Additionally, our single income will not cover the co-payments for the nine months of medical care.
