Our hearts are heavy as we share this update about sweet Nico, just 1 year and 4 months old, who has been in the hospital for over 3 weeks. After countless tests, monitoring, and even brain surgery, doctors have diagnosed him with central nervous system vasculitis — a rare and serious condition causing multiple seizures throughout the day.

Because of the severity of his symptoms, Nico must remain in the hospital for ongoing treatment. His parents Abram Sara Heide have not left his side for a single moment. As any parent would, they are fighting for their baby — emotionally, physically, and spiritually. But this also means they are unable to work, and their other children are currently staying with family members.

This beautiful family is facing overwhelming medical, travel, and living expenses without the ability to earn an income right now.
