Jimmy was so full of life that even after battling cancer and slowed down due to heart disease he lived with an energy and enthusiasm that inspired all who knew him. 
Because he had been ill friends and family knew he couldn't keep up that pace much longer yet hearing he died in his sleep was a shock to many. He'd evaded death so many times! God called him home in his sleep because that's the only time he was still.
