I ended up getting sick the end of 2021. I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis. It's caused by a teratoma that forms in the ovaries and it just so happened that mine produced brain neurons. During the time I was hospitalized and in a medical induced coma I ended up with a bunch of issues that arose from the medical induced coma. One of them being the intestinal acids eating away at the top of my stomach and lower esophagus. The other being severe damage to my trachea caused by being on a ventilator long term that is causing my airway to close completely due to scar tissue. We have been going back and forth from Gardendale all the way to Houston for my medical care and it has ended up being financially hard on my family. My husband is the only one who works due to my illness and with him having to take me back and forth to Houston we are barely making it when he is able to work. We honestly need help to get to Houston and back and to pay for the Co-pay of my upcoming surgeries. If we could get just a little help to cover this upcoming trip for the gas we will use and also the medical co-pay I would be extremely grateful to everyone who helps out.
