On September 8, 2023 our lives changed forever when our wonderful 3-year-old Juliette was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of brain cancer called PFA ependymoma. Juliette endured a 10 hour brain surgery on September 13 to remove a tumor from her brainstem; the procedure caused irritation to nerves that subsequently required Juliette to re-learn how to swallow, speak, walk, and control her left eye. Following surgery Juliette completed 30 sessions of radiation over the course of six weeks, concluding November 29, 2023.
She will have a MRI scan of her head (and occasionally spine) every three months to monitor the tumor site.
