About this fundraiser

My name is Raeven, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my uncle as he faces a difficult and rapidly progressing medical battle.

He was recently diagnosed with T2 bladder cancer, classified as aggressive due to the damage it has already caused to his left kidney. In just the last three months, he has required seven hospital visits, including four admissions, and has seen nine different specialists as complications continue to develop. He currently relies on a nephrostomy tube inserted through his back to support his left kidney functions.

His treatment plan includes 13 weeks of chemotherapy followed by immunotherapy. While we are hopeful, his UT Southwestern medical team here in Dallas has warned that if these treatments are not effective, he will need a complete bladder removal. This life-altering surgery would permanently limit his daily activities and take away things he once enjoyed, like playing softball and simply staying active.

What makes this especially hard is who my uncle is as a person. He has never smoked, drank, or used drugs. He has always been the type who shows up for everyone else before himself; the one who helps the family move, checks in when someone is struggling, and quietly does for others without expecting anything back. He’s the person who keeps a calm, steady presence even when life is chaotic. Seeing him face an illness that strips away his independence and his ability to work has been incredibly painful and heartbreaking for all of us.

Right now, due to the severity of his condition and the demands of treatment, he is unable to work, and the financial strain is becoming unmanageable, even though he has always been financially responsible. Medical bills, travel to appointments, and basic living expenses are all piling up while he focuses on fighting this disease.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

Out-of-pocket medical expenses;

Hospital and treatment-related travel;

Essential living costs while he cannot work;

Long-term recovery needs.

This has been a heavy time for our family and our community. Your support, through a donation and sharing this page, would make a meaningful difference and ease some of the burden during an already overwhelming chapter.

Thank you for taking the time to read his story and for supporting him through this fight.
