    Hello everyone!

This update is probably a few months too late, but better late than never!

Brian has been using the CPAP and new inhalers regularly, which thankfully means fewer times using the nebulizer, and have had zero ER visits! We are still dealing massively with the congestion, and have been looking into allergen shots with my new insurance and seeing looking into the direction of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome or MCAS. Mast cells are known as 'police officers' of the immune system, and with the amount of sinus infections, allergy flare ups and general illnesses Brian has had, we figured it would be a good avenue to go down.

We want to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers. While things aren't perfect, we're on the right path, and have been able to get through some pretty tough financial times.

Anything else major from here on out will be posted to my Facebook if you are following.

Again, thank you all so much. I don't think we would have survived this without all of you.

About this fundraiser

Hello friends how's it going.

As most may know, Brian and I have been struggling with infertility for the better part of 5 years. However, we've decided to put this on hold to focus on something more pressing: fixing Brian.

Brian has grown up with asthma and allergies most of his life, but it has gotten much worse in the last year. In fact, we've been in the ER for low O2 and difficulty breathing three times since mid March.

As of right now, Brian will need an at home nebulizer when he has his asthma attacks, which should reduce our number of visits to the ER. He will also be needing a CPAP machine as on more than one occasion, an asthma attack is triggered when he stops breathing at night. We are also hoping of taking steps towards allergen shots to reduce the amount of flare ups. Currently, Brian is allergic to everything from dog and cat dander, bird feathers, reptile scales, indoor dust, outdoor pollen and other environmental allergens. (I wish I were lying about the reptile scales, but it's truly that bad.)

I've known Brian since September of 2013, and have never known him able to smell due to constant congestion. All I want for him is to live a relatively normal existence without the fear of not being able to breathe.

While we have insurance, we know that not everything will be covered. All donations will go toward any medical devices not covered by insurance, the allergen immunotherapy, and offsetting the ER bills.

Costs:

  • Mobile nebulizer: $50
  • At home nebulizer: $100
  • CPAP machine: $1000
  • Allergen Immunotherapy: $90 per shot twice a week equating about $4500 for 25 weeks.
  • R

We have found that the medication he needs is partially covered by insurance, but none of the machinery is.

If you can not spare a donation, please do not feel like you need to donate no matter what. We know and understand that finances can be tough. I know we will not reach our goal, and that's ok. This fundraiser is simply to help offset costs as my paychecks fluctuate immensely.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this. I know it's not the most heart wrenching story and we are definitely not the most in need. We would be grateful if you just shared the link. We just hope to one day get him at a healthy place before we restart the IVF process.

With all the prayer and love I can muster, thank you.
